NSCAATV.com College Soccer Special: Maryland vs. Duke (men)
NSCAATV.com's College Soccer Special is set to feature a pair of men's Atlantic Coast Conference heavyweights, as the Duke Blue Devils go on the road to take on the No. 13 Maryland Terrapins on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Terps are looking to bounce back as they find themselves at 0-1-1 after opening the season on the road with a 3-3 tie against Stanford, followed by a 3-2 loss to California.
Duke, on the other hand, is sitting unbeaten so far at 1-0-1 through their first two games, thanks in large part to the play of sophomore midfielder Zach Mathers.
Mathers came up big for the Blue Devils, netting the tying goal against Rutgers with 11 seconds left in regulation to put the score at 1-1, which would hold up as the final. Two days later, he would strike again putting Duke on the board first and leading his squad to a 2-0 victory over Northeastern.
These two teams last met in the regular season in October, with Maryland pulling out a 2-1 win. Overall, Maryland holds the all-time series lead over Duke 46-22-3.
The College Soccer Special will broadcast the game live from College Park, Md., with Dean Linke and Keith Tabatznik calling the game for NSCAATV.com.
